Do ProOne Water Filters Remove Fluoride in Water?
In a word: Absolutely. Fluoride, lead and chlorine are just 3 of over 200 contaminants removed/reduced by ProOne water filters. But first, in order to understand what we’re dealing with, let’s take a step back and explore what water fluoridation is, and why it’s in our water supply.

What is Fluoride? Why is Fluoride in Water?
Fluoride is a naturally-occurring chemical that exists in various natural waterways, as well as certain foods and drinks. It’s a natural strengthener of tooth enamel, which is why fluoride is frequently added to toothpaste. When you use fluoride toothpaste while brushing your teeth, you’re actually scrubbing the fluoride onto the surface of your teeth, helping rebuild weakened tooth enamel.
To help prevent cavities on a cost-effective community level, the U.S. government began adding fluoride to some public water supplies in the 1940s. Today, over 75 percent of tap water in American homes is fluoridated, which the American Dental Association (ADA) credits as the single most effective public health measure in preventing tooth decay.

Should You Remove Fluoride from Your Water?
At high enough doses, fluoride in drinking water can not only damage people’s teeth, according to the World Health Organization, but can possibly lead to more serious side effects, including bone cancer. While there is little cause for direct alarm to your immediate health (it would take over 100 gallons of water – or 1,900 glasses – to reach a toxic dose), pregnant or nursing women should take great care in their choice of source for their daily recommended water intake. In utero fluoride intake has been linked to developmental delays and cognitive difficulties in young children, likely directly linked to fluoride in tap water.
This brings us back to water filtration. Between gravity filtration devices such as a water filter pitchers, countertop water filters, shower filters, or even refrigerator-based systems that you can install yourself at home, many affordable and NSF certified solutions are available to make sure you & your family have access to the cleanest drinking water possible, without concern for undesired fluoride intake.
ProOne’s G2.0M filter is ideal for home use, the only NSF/ANSI-42 component certified gravity filter on the market. There’s no add-on filter required for fluoride reduction, while it reduces over 200 contaminants in tap water, including fluoride, heavy metals, pesticides, herbicides, chlorine, chloramines, bacteria, pharmaceuticals and more.
Advanced features of the ProOne G2.0 series filter include:
-Silver infused outer ceramic shell, helps prevent the growth of bacteria, proprietary carbon based granular media inside the core
